Home & Vehicle

There are more than 50,000 accidental fires in homes throughout Britain every year – that’s nearly 140 a day. Many of those who die are the most vulnerable in the community, namely elderly and socially deprived people. The installation of a fire detection and fire alarm system in a dwelling can substantially reduce the risk of death or serious injury from fire.

The precautions you need to take are simple, inexpensive and they could end up saving your life.

The financial loss of having a car fire is bad enough and, although insurance may cover this, nothing can help with the shock and inconvenience that follows. Most Fire Brigades attend over 450 vehicle fires every year and of these 65% deliberately and the remainder accidental.

Touch the door with the back of your hand before opening it. Do not open the door if it is warm, this means there is a fire on the other side.
